As a literacy coach, Rachael meets me exactly where I am personally, professionally, and in relation to my students on a week to week basis. In a classroom where our roles are constantly evolving based on the needs of our students, Rachael's calmness, passion, and positivity transforms what can be a stress-inducing desire to improve into an empowering, enduring urge to grow. She prioritizes seeing educators first as people, before teachers, which makes a tremendously positively difference in the important work of facilitating learning for children. She has a gift of balancing individual coaching for a variety of experience levels and mindsets, with delivering meaningful PDs to this diverse group. Rachael designs professional development that simultaneously propels the larger vision of a school and gives teachers tools to practice in their classroom that very same day. Rachael is exactly who every teacher needs regardless of where he or she in their career; she affirms the strengths teachers bring to the table and also stretches teachers to improve their practice in a manageable way. She is a welcomed, magnetic presence in a pre-scheduled coaching meeting, an observation, a large group PD, or simply a check-in conversation at the end of a long day. Rachael brings a much needed contagious new energy to teachers that flows right to those who need it most, the students in front of us.
